Apple would have trouble selling its iPhone SE 2022

Criticized in our columns for its price, its lack of novelty and its aging photo part, the iPhone SE 2022 would have a hard time finding a buyer. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst for TF International Securities, often well informed, the device would benefit from lower sales than those initially projected by Apple. Other sources cited by AppleInsider talk about logistical changes for the device, whose production has already been reduced.
Not enough buyers for the iPhone SE 2022?
It must be said that with the exception of its new 5G connectivity, the iPhone SE 2022 hardly changes the formula compared to its predecessor. In addition, the smartphone is coming to market as the COVID-19 pandemic is on the rise again in China, and in the context of war in Ukraine. Two events that may play a role in the lackluster sales seen for the device, suggests AppleInsider.
In his tweet, Ming-Chi Kuo, however, relies on checking inventory in Apple Stores, and not on industrial sources … unlike Nikkei Asia, which reports for its part that Apple would have ordered 20% of less iPhone SE to its subcontractors for the next quarter.
3 million fewer iPhone SEs in Apple orders
Specifically, this could represent up to 3 million fewer devices manufactured. So many iPhone SEs that will not be sold when analysts predicted up to 30 million units sold during its first year on the market.
In parallel, AppleInsider reports that Apple has also scaled back its iPhone 13 and AirPods orders. In the first case, it is a classic dynamic as the launch of the iPhone 14 is gradually approaching. It is not known, however, which models of AirPods are affected by this drop in production.
