The most powerful smartphone from Xiaomi, the Redmi K60 Ultra, has just been presented. In addition to its rather mind-blowing performance for a phone in its range, it will benefit from revolutionary screen protection.
Called “Ice Cooling Tempered Film”, this accessory for the future Redmi K60 Ultra (or Xiaomi 13 T Pro) is not a screen protector like the others. Designed in collaboration with researchers at Nanjing University in China, it was developed to remedy a major problem inherent in powerful smartphones: overheating. Its design allows it to drastically reduce the temperature of the phone when used in a hot environment.
State-of-the-art protection
The “Ice Cooling Tempered Film” can reduce the phone’s temperature by up to 5 degrees when used in very hot conditions, such as direct sunlight. To achieve this result, it is necessary to take a closer look at the construction of the device. If the majority of protective films are made of polyurethane or polycarbonate, this one offers a slightly different design.
It thus combines a succession of several layers of precision optical coatings with a tempered film. The true nature of the materials, however, has not been specified by the brand. This set acts as a shield, capable of reflecting part of the solar radiation, which allows a much more efficient heat dissipation. Despite this rather innovative design, the light transmission of the film displays a nice rate of 92%, which makes it possible to preserve the clarity of the images and the colors.
An accessory designed for everyday life
However, its particular “anti-UV” design does not prevent it from offering adequate protection for daily use. The film is durable, has anti-scratch and anti-explosion properties. It is also pleasant to handle since its last layer, oleophobic, has been worked to be as smooth as possible. Its installation has also shown particular care and should be much easier for the user to perform.
This protective film will be offered at the rather attractive price of 59 yuan, or just under 8 euros. Available for purchase alone, it will also be possible for customers to have the film directly affixed to the future K60 Ultra. The latter is announced for an arrival on the French market in September to compete with the iPhone 15.
