Although EA is often the subject of criticism, it is undeniable that the EA Originals label has produced high quality games and offered some real gems in the past. In fact, the next game under this label has just been leaked.
The EA Originals label is an Electronic Arts initiative intended to support independent development studios. This label allows these studios to benefit from EA’s resources, expertise and distribution while retaining their creativity and creative control. For several years we have been treated to some great gems, and a leak reveals the next game.
EA and the next game from the Originals label
In fact, the information leak comes from billbil-kun, a renowned French leaker on Dealabs.com who needs no introduction. The game in question is called Tales of Kenzera: ZAU. A 2.5D side-scrolling adventure game, which takes some inspiration from the Trine series. It should be officially revealed by EA and Surgent Studios during the Game Awards 2023. The protagonist of the game, young and wearing two necklaces, would have magical powers, with the possibility of alternating between two types of magic (blue and orange).
Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is scheduled for release on April 23, 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. No information is available regarding a possible release on Nintendo Switch and previous generation consoles. The price of the game would be 7.99 euros on PC. The team in charge is Surgent Studios. Founded by actor Abubakar Salim (known for House of the Dragon and for playing Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins).
A great story for the label

Indeed, we remember the excellent A Way Out from 2018. A unique game in the sense that it can only be played in cooperative mode, whether online or split screen. The game follows the story of two prisoners, Leo and Vincent, who must work together to escape prison and pursue their personal goals outside the prison walls. The game is heavily narrative-driven and requires players to coordinate their actions to progress through the story and overcome various challenges. A beautiful memory. We hope the same will be true for Tales of Kenzera: ZAU.
