Dead Rising is back! A new game is coming and fans should be thrilled. Capcom seems to be betting big on this anticipated return.
Announced as if nothing had happened a short while ago, a new Dead Rising game is coming soon to consoles and PC. A godsend for fans of the franchise who have had nothing to sink their teeth into since the fourth episode. The only downside is that it is not a new game, but a remake of the very first episode of the franchise. But this time, it is the neophytes who will be happy (nostalgic ones too, in truth).
Dead Rising Returns from the Dead
The first Dead Rising was, at the time, a real phenomenon. Launched on Xbox 360 at first, the game made a splash by displaying more than a hundred zombies simultaneously on the screen, a first for the time. With that, the promise of an open world where you can use everything at your disposal to smash the undead with a good dose of second degree. We then find ourselves projected into a gigantic American mall in the shoes of Frank West, an intrepid and slightly expeditious journalist, with the objectives of surviving and getting the best scoop. The game presents itself as a race against time where all our actions must be carefully considered since we only have 72 hours to carry out our investigation and save those who can be saved.
As presented during the live held by Capcom on the night of July 1st, in this new version, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (DRDR), the studio has completely revisited the graphics with a new engine and especially very clear improvements compared to the time. More details, a reworked design… we will even be able to have even more undead on the screen. It promises to be as fun as it was back then and that’s all we ask for. The studio also tells us that if the game remains perfectly identical to the original, this new version could almost be compared to a remake as the work done is important. In addition to a total graphic overhaul, the game has had other adjustments such as a significantly improved AI of the survivors. On the other hand, the developers have not touched the good old animations of the time, wishing to preserve a certain comic nostalgia, by their own admission.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be released on September 19 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
