It came totally out of nowhere but the Xbox Showcase was the opportunity to discover the next episode of Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) and it’s totally crazy, in every sense of the word.
THE Summer Game Fest and more specifically the Xbox Showcase was the opportunity to discover a trailer revealing Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. And the least we can say is that it’s still WTF, regardless of the name change… The game is scheduled for Xbox and PC for early 2024 without further details.
Like a Dragon (Yakuza) : Infinite Wealth, a completely crazy game
The trailer shows Ichiban Kasuga, the main character of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, waking up naked on the beach, apparently in Hawaii, with no idea how he got there. We don’t have any more information than that yet except that the game should take place outside of Japan. Ie RPG Summit Summer 2023 on June 16, 2023 should provide more information. A change of country could be a good opportunity to add new game mechanics, but it also remains to be seen whether fans will appreciate leaving the Japanese Archipelago, which is one of the big interests of the saga.
