the next world”, voracious grasshoppers invite themselves among the dinosaurs

THE OPINION OF THE “WORLD” – WHY NOT

The saga of Jurassic still counts its fans, since the shock created by the very first Jurassic Park, signed in 1993 by Steven Spielberg. Since 2015, Colin Trevorrow has taken the reins of the Universal franchise (as writer and/or director) and the box office remains in good shape, whatever the merits of the successive films. What about the sixth installment, Jurassic World. The world after ? Still, the story is overloaded, not always readable, to the point of relegating almost to the background the battles of “dinos” – however long and invigorating, that the spectators are reassured.

The world has changed since Jurassic World. Fallen Kingdom (2018), we are told in the preamble: the “dinos” have been released into the wild and are causing panic. Two visions clash: should we hunt them down or protect them? The second line prevailed and, for the time being, the critters are preserved in a vast space, under the leadership of the big boss of the Biosyn Genetics laboratory, who wants to be a philanthropist, Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott). But the man is duplicitous and leads a diabolical project at the same time, based on genetic manipulation: voracious grasshoppers, manufactured within the “lab”, are sent to devastate the land and cause a famine…

Worthy of a James Bond

In addition, the boss of Biosyn is interested in the genetic heritage of a young girl, Maisie (Isabella Sermon), human only in appearance, endowed with DNA that could save humanity – she was “designed” by her mother, a great scientist. Maisie is soon kidnapped and her adoptive parents – played by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard – set out to find her. The battle of the good guys against the bad guy – like the character of Specter in james bond – can start.

Recognize the work of the actors, all convincing, who hold this film with a thousand twists

The parents will find by their side two scientific allies – Laura Dern and Sam Neill, familiar with the saga – anxious to demonstrate Biosyn’s guilt in the breeding of grasshoppers. All these little people find themselves in the ultra-protected space of Biosyn, still worthy of a 007with its futuristic architecture and secret passages.

We recognize the work of the actors, all convincing, who hold this film with a thousand twists and turns, without forgetting Jeff Goldblum in the role of a lecturer defending ethics in the face of the excesses of boundless genetics – the moral of the film is saved, from even that the pilot of the helicopter is a woman, black and lesbian, we half understand (formidable DeWanda Wise).
