The Nintendo Switch 2 could have a very aggressive price!

Yet another rumor about the Nintendo Switch 2, because as everyone knows, not a day goes by without the Japanese giant’s next console being on everyone’s lips.

The next generation of Nintendo’s handheld console, the Nintendo Switch 2, is generating a lot of speculation. Although the Japanese firm has not yet officially confirmed the existence of this new platform, rumors and analyzes continue to grow around what can await players. In particular, the price is one of the big unknowns. Yet this is the crux of the matter.

The price of the Nintendo Switch 2 at the heart of the debates

According to predictions, the Nintendo Switch 2 price could be between $399 and $499. However, a more aggressive pricing strategy could lower the cost to around $349, although this remains purely speculative at this point. This is what we can learn in a brand new video from YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead, known for his numerous revelations.

According to him, however, it is unlikely that Nintendo will set the price of its new console long before its launch. However, based on the alleged hardware specifications of the Switch 2, comparable to those of a laptop equipped with an NVIDIA RTX 2050 mobile graphics card (according to its sources), it is envisaged that its price will be between 399 and $499. This is the most logical.

This price range would align with current market standards, offering a balance between the quality of the equipment and accessibility for the consumer. However, the possibility of a more aggressive pricing strategy is also mentioned. Indeed, if Nintendo decides to take the market by surprise, the company could set the price of the Switch 2 at around $349. This approach, while remaining profitable, would place Nintendo in a competitive position, by making the console more accessible to a wide audience.

However, this information remains at the speculation stage. The final price and Nintendo’s strategy will remain unknown until the official announcement. What is certain is that the price positioning of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be a key element of its success on the market. According to Moore’s Law Is Dead, on the hardware side, the console has been ready for a while and Nintendo is simply waiting for the right timing for the launch (March 2025). Still according to him, the specifications of the Nintendo Switch 2 that we mentioned at the start of the year, in particular on the NVIDIA T239 SOC with an NVIDIA Ampere GPU, would be the most credible.

Storage that changes everything?

Finally, as WCCFTECH reports, Samsung recently announced a line of SD Express microSD cards, resulting from a successful collaboration with a customer for a bespoke product. Which fuels speculation that that customer could be Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch 2. These cards promise speeds up to 10 times faster than the original Switch, which could significantly improve loading times. However, this all remains speculative until an official announcement from Nintendo.
