The Nintendo Switch 2 tested by the developers, the release for 2024 is specified

Several sources now agree that Nintendo did indeed present its Switch 2 to developers at Gamescom. Several details have since leaked. The lucky ones speak of a console whose power equals that of the PS14, but which manages to obtain a PS5 and Xbox Series rendering thanks to DLSS. The release planned for 2024 is becoming more and more plausible.

A few days ago, a few voices timidly affirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 had been presented to a handful of elected officials during Gamescom. Some then took the opportunity to announce exciting information coming to the console. It seems that day has arrived. Two joint reports, signed by Eurogamer and Video Game Chronicles, provide in detail all the advances identified by the developers who were able to take charge of the console.

Nintendo’s demonstration would have taken place on an improved version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, running at a better framerate and greater definition. However, the exact performance figures have not been revealed. Other sources also mention a passage on The Matrix Awakens, the Unreal Engine 5 demo published by Epic in 2021. You will have understood, Nintendo is very clearly aiming (dare we say finally?) a real leap forward performance side.

The first feedback on the Nintendo Switch 2 suggests a PS5/Xbox Series rendering

On the hardware side, we could expect performance similar to the old generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft, the PS4 and the Xbox One. However, the Nintendo Switch should be able to count on a major advantage: DLSS. Thanks to Nvidia technology, testers report, the console manages to display a rendering similar to the PS5 and Xbox Series X. And yes: the machine would also support ray tracing.

Such a technological leap necessarily raises the question of portability, a major advantage of the current Switch. However, according to the developers, Nintendo would not have ignored this point, which suggests that its next console will work on the same principle. Moreover, previous leaks have mentioned the presence of an LCD screen as well as a release planned for 2024. If all these technical details are still to be taken with a grain of salt, the launch window is becoming more and more credible .
