The Nintendo Switch 2 victim of a giga leak, a big surprise revealed

It wouldn’t be a good week without a little leak on the Nintendo Switch 2. This time, it’s the price of the console that’s circulating as well as the release date. But there is also an unexpected surprise.

The Nintendo Switch 2 no longer stops making headlines, while the Japanese manufacturer does not react to rumors and other leaks. The firm has its roadmap and will not deviate from it despite the growing rumors. And in this regard, a new very big leak has just been spotted by the discerning eyes of Internet users.

A leak on the price and release date of the Nintendo Switch 2

When will the Nintendo Switch 2 be announced and released? For the presentation, there are different bell sounds. But the most likely hypothesis is that Big N lets the end of the year pass to start communication in the first quarter of 2024. If we are to believe the information from VGC, always very reliable, the release would take place in the second half of 2024. Now, we have a firm date.

This should be taken with a grain of salt, but according to a Discord profile, SoldierDelta, the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 could occur on September 24, 2024. Even if a release in November cannot be ruled out. But for now, this window would be what we call a “placeholder”. A temporary slot which allows resellers to collect pre-orders. This mysterious person goes much further and claims to have been aware of the prices of the consoles. Yes, all in the plural because there would be a big surprise.

The Nintendo Switch 2 would be available on September 24, 2024 with a choice of two different models. The first at 449 dollars which could accommodate the new game cartridges, and another 100% dematerialized at 400 dollars. Big would thus reproduce what the competition is doing with the PS5 Digital Edition and the future Xbox Series X without a blu-ray player. Credible information? This is apparently the person who provided details and images of the PlayStation 5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin to leaker The Snitch.

Two consoles, two prices to please everyone?

As said above, the source is not part of the circle of trusted insiders, tweezers are more important than ever. This could be a fake leak based purely on speculation. But a 100% digital model could perhaps explain a point about the storage of the Nintendo Switch 2. According to Nate The Hate, who seems to have his entries, the internal space to install games, updates and applications would be of 512GB, which is huge compared to the classic Switch. It is in fact limited to 32GB, which makes it mandatory to purchase an SD card to increase storage if you want to keep several games directly on the console. We can therefore assume that its 512GB would be more than useful with a Nintendo Switch 2 Digital Edition.

But this increase in internal storage could also be justified by the quality of future titles. A still very fresh rumor states that Monster Hunter 6 could land on the machine, at the same time as a PS5, Xbox Series X|S version. And MH6 or Monster Hunter World 2 would not be an isolated case. Leaker Tom Henderson said “I’m really excited about Nintendo Switch 2 and its technology. We’ll see a lot more “planned release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and Switch 2” in the next 12-18 months”.

Other revelations mentioned the existence of technical demos of The Matrix Awakens with ray tracing and support for Nvidia’s DLSS, or even Zelda Breath of the Wild in 4K. FF7 Remake would even have the right to a port. Only big software that surely takes up a lot of space, hence perhaps the need to provide more reasonable storage without having to pay additional euros for an SD card upon release.
