The ninth generation of Pokémon will arrive at the end of the year with Scarlet and Violet

Today is Pokemon Day. The occasion to celebrate the anniversary of the franchise, released for the first time 26 years ago in Japan. And this has been the date on which The Pokémon Company has chosen to make its major announcements for some time. This year is no exception to the rule, since the ninth generation of Pokémon has already been announced for this year with Pokemon Scarlet and Purple on Switch.

Not much to say for the moment on the game, since it is barely a few seconds that have been revealed. Nevertheless, a major piece of information is obvious: Scarlet and Violet are greatly inspired by Pokemon Legends Arceus, For better and for worse. The title seems to be open-world with free exploration like Arceus, and Pokémon that roam the wild. But the game is already just as ugly. And since it’s still a Game Freak production, there’s no need for false hope. Yes, the rendering will be a little less abominable than in this trailer. And maybe even better than in Arceus, but nothing more. Do not expect to see a game that exploits the capabilities of the Switch to a minimum.

Pokémon Scarlet and Purple Starters

On the sidelines of the trailer, the ninth generation starters have been revealed. In the traditional Plant-Fire-Water triangle, we can thus discover a cat, a small dinosaur, and an adorable duck with a cap. Team coin coin until the end.
