The Nissan Leaf is the first electric option from Nissan, which wants to focus more on electric cars in the future. What is the range of the Nissan Leaf?
Nissan Leaf
The manufacturer himself states that the Nissan Leaf has a range of up to 270 km have what is ideal for driving in a city. At a constant outside temperature of 15°C and an average speed of 30 km/h, the range is 314 km; at an average speed of 110 km/h, on the other hand, it is 171 km. One or two people are accepted in the car.
Nissan Leaf e+
The company gives one for the Nissan Leaf e+ Range of up to 385 km on. With the same assumptions for temperature and people in the car, it applies to this version that the range is 439 km at an average speed of 30 km/h and 242 km at an average speed of 110 km/h. According to these values, the Nissan Leaf e+ is suitable for significantly longer distances than the other model. You can find the range calculator on the manufacturer’s website.
According to a test by the ADAC, however, this information can vary somewhat in reality, depending on the environment. The Nissan Leaf therefore only has one Range of 200 km. With the Nissan Leaf e+, one Range of 300 km went out. These values can be used for orientation, but they can also change change under special conditions.

What battery does the Nissan Leaf use?
The battery is decisive for the range of the car. So the Nissan Leaf uses one 39 kWh batterywhile in the Nissan Leaf e+ one 59 kWh battery is installed. These batteries are lithium-ion batteries that withstand up to 2000 charging cycles. Assuming 200 km for the Nissan Leaf, it can cover a total of about 400,000 km. A theoretical total range of around 600,000 km follows for the Nissan Leaf e+. Lithium-ion batteries are also used in other electric car models.
What loading times do these models have?
You can charge the cars at different locations. The said ADAC test showed that charging the Nissan Leaf with the appropriate cable at a standard socket is approx 21 hours need. The Nissan Leaf e+ required under the same conditions 32 hours. Cars can be charged faster at home with a wall box. With this device, the Nissan Leaf e+ is within 15 hours fully charged.
The charging processes at the fast-charging stations take considerably less time. The manufacturer states that the Nissan Leaf’s battery lasts approx 60 minutes need to be charged from 20% to 60%. The battery of the Nissan Leafs e+ needs estimated for the same effect 90 minutes.
However, the following applies to all values given here: Both the range, the battery life and the charging time depend on several factors and should therefore only be seen as an approximate guide value that can help with the assessment.
