Barely a few days after its release, the Nothing Phone (1) is already being talked about for its bugs. Many users are indeed complaining of a green tint appearing on the edges of its screen, a problem that is obviously very widespread. Still others notice a dead pixel on the side of the selfie sensor. Nothing has confirmed knowledge of the phenomenon.
It didn’t take long for the Nothing Phone (1) to reveal its flaws. Surprising by its innovations and its biases for such an affordable price, the flip side of the coin is now being felt among users who have already purchased the smartphone. The victim is the screen, the culprit is still unknown. On Reddit and Twitter, many testimonials are pouring in to point the finger at the same problem.
In several users, the screen thus displays a green reflection on the edges. The origin varies, coming either from the sides or from the top or bottom of the screen. One of them even had the misfortune to experience the problem twice in a row while trying to have his smartphone replaced: ” En 2 days in a row, you managed to send two phones with faulty screens. Even the replacement smartphone has a tint issue”he wrote on Twitter.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there. Many also report the presence of one or more dead pixels around the selfie sensor, as you can see in the photo below. The Beebom media reports that the pixel appeared only 3 hours after receiving the smartphone, a testimony that corroborates with that of other unlucky users.
We received the Nothing phone (1) Indian retail unit this morning. And just three hours in, we are seeing dead pixels around the selfie camera in our unit. Disappointing!!

On Twitter, Nothing confirmed that he was aware of the issue, but did not provide further details as to its origins. We therefore do not know if the bug is software or hardware, let alone when a fix will be available. You will therefore have to be patient if you are concerned. Note that we did not notice these problems during our Nothing Phone test (1), despite several hours of use.
