the Odessa region victim of new Russian attacks

  • Russia has again attacked the Odessa region in southern Ukraine with nineteen drones and fourteen missiles, with authorities reporting an injured woman on Monday morning. All drones and 11 missiles shot down by air defenses, military said, indicating damage to Odessa resort “important”.
  • A power outage plunged a district of Saint Petersburg, Russia, into darkness on Sunday evening, as well as the Pulkovo airport, independent Russian-language media outlet Meduza reported. According to several Telegram channels, residents heard a bang and saw a flash of light about an hour before the power went out.
  • The Ukrainian president once again welcomed on Sunday the United States’ decision to produce weapons and defense systems in collaboration with Ukraine. “This is a historic decision. (…) This is something that was an absolute dream until recently but is about to become a reality. We are going to make it a reality”said Volodymyr Zelensky.
  • Drone attacks targeted the Russian city of Kursk on Sunday. A Ukrainian drone was first used against an administrative building and slightly damaged the roof. More explosions were later reported in the city, and the regional governor announced that anti-aircraft defenses had come into action. According to the Ukrainian media Hromadske, the attack targeted an oil depot located near Kursk airport which is also the Khalino military airport.
  • Bombing of the Kherson region caused “dead and injured”. According to the region’s governor, at least one woman and one man died in the villages of Beryslav and Lviv. Later, a new attack targeted the city of Kherson. Two bombs hit “an industrial zone in the Dnipro district” And “civil infrastructure in the Korabelny district”according to a message posted on Telegram.
  • Denis Pushilin, leader of the self-proclaimed separatist state of the Donbass region, established a curfew between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. on weekdays. He also signed a decree which imposes “military censorship of mail, Internet communications and telephone conversations”, specifies the TASS agency. The Russian FSB will be responsible for applying this censorship.
