The Office: the new series officially ordered!


Fans of “The Office” can rejoice, the new series, set in the same universe of the cult comedy, has been officially ordered!

Attention fans of The Office! A new iteration of the cult series that propelled Steve Carell is in the works. After several weeks of development, Deadline confirms that this new series has officially been ordered by Peacock.

The creator of The Office, Greg Daniels, teams up with Michael Koman, former author of the late show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, for this new fiction, which is similar to a spin-off since it is part of the same universe as the original series, itself adapted from the very first British fiction by Ricky Gervais.

This new series The Office will also be a mockumentary, that is to say a fiction which takes the form of a mockumentary, and it will focus on a whole new group of employees. In this future fiction, the film crew that followed Michael, Jim, Pam, Dwight and the rest of the Dunder Mifflin gang for years is looking for a new subject.

She decides to look into a historic Midwestern newspaper that the publisher is trying to revive with the help of volunteer journalists and intends to film the office life of this editorial office. On the casting side, two names had already been announced: Domhnall Gleeson (It’s about time, Ex Machina) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus).

According to Deadline, Greg Daniels has called on his best writers to write several episodes of the first seasons of the new series The Office. Casting is still underway for the office staff and another actor or actress in a leading role may well be added to the cast.
