Munich’s Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter opened the Oktoberfest on Saturday afternoon. Numerous celebrities also celebrated the Oktoberfest tapping.

After a two-year Corona break, it was finally back in Munich: O’zapft is! Mayor Dieter Reiter (64) opened the 187th Oktoberfest on Saturday (September 17) and seemed slightly out of practice: At 12 noon sharp he tapped the first keg of beer with three taps – in previous years he only needed two .

He handed the first measure to the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (55), who shortly afterwards showed on Instagramhow excited he is about the return of Oktoberfest. “The Munich Oktoberfest is always like a big homecoming and reunion,” says Söder.

Celebrities celebrate on tapping day

A few celebrities don’t want to miss out on the first Oktoberfest weekend either and diligently shared their impressions of the Theresienwiese. Actress Laura Osswald (40) posted right after the tapping a photo of yourself at the Tiffany Oktoberfest, where numerous other celebrities and influencers cavorted. Presenter Cathy Hummels (34) also defied the rain and came to the Oktoberfest in a mint green dirndl.

Presenter Kai Pflaume (55) posted a selfie via Instagram from the Paulaner marquee and toasted a virtual “peaceful Wiesn” with his followers. And also pop singer Patrick Lindner (61) dressed upto celebrate the Oktoberfest tapping.

The traditional Oktoberfest tapping takes place every year in the Schottenhamel tent. In 2022, the folk festival lasts from September 17th to October 3rd. Usually around six million visitors from all over the world come to the Oktoberfest. The price for a beer this year is between 12.60 and 13.80 euros.
