The OnePlus 10T isn’t a Galaxy Z Flip 4, but it still bends

The very recent OnePlus 10T passed through the hands of JerryRigEverything. It folded like a Galaxy Z Flip 4…which was not the expected result.

Samsung has just released two new folding smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. But, should new traditional smartphones also be folded? Famous YouTuber Zack from the JerryRigEverything channel recently took on the OnePlus 10T. He wanted to replicate what he did with the OnePlus 10 Pro. Indeed, with its bending test, the OnsPlus smartphone had bent too easily.

In this test, the youtuber American simply presses the center of the screen with his two thumbs. The OnePlus 10T, with its plastic case, finally broke with little resistance.

OnePlus reacted quickly to the embarrassing situation and said in a statement to various English-language media that the OnePlus 10T had otherwise been extensively tested. The device not only met all requirements, but even exceeded them.

OnePlus reassures, but the damage is done

According to OnePlus, the device was tested in an automated test, which showed that it can support a weight of up to 45 kilograms when resting on the ends while pressure is applied in the middle. This applies to both front and back.

We have no doubt that OnePlus has indeed passed its own internal tests. But, it seems equally clear that the phone failed the third-party test mentioned earlier in the article. This is not a problem, nevertheless stress tests are always interesting to study.
