The OnePlus 12 would solve one of the biggest problems of its predecessors

The OnePlus 12 should improve several complaints that were leveled against its predecessor. Fast wireless charging, much more efficient data transfer and the addition of a periscope are on the table.

We loved the OnePlus 11. Very good value for money that unfortunately became difficult to recommend with the departure of Oppo from France, which as a reminder, belongs to the same group. Since then, OnePlus has released a folding smartphone, the OnePlus Open, in France, which tends to reassure somewhat about the future of the brand.

The future will undoubtedly take shape with a OnePlus 12. According to Digital Chat Station, a leaker very famous officiating on Weibo, the next flagship of OnePlus could finally resolve some of the grievances accused of the brand.

Wireless charging and transfer speed

OnePlus should reinstate wireless charging on its smartphones. And not just any, 50 W please. That’s way more than the 15-20W speed we’re used to.

A surprising change for anyone who has been following the brand for a few years since, until now, OnePlus prided itself on preferring fast wired charging to wireless charging. An argument which held less and less in the face of the capacity of its competitors to offer both.

The last smartphone to offer both from OnePlus was the OnePlus 9 Pro, also equipped with proprietary 50W wireless charging. The OnePlus 12 should likely follow the same path.

A periscope in the OnePlus 12

Two other welcome additions could appear: a USB 3.2 port and an infrared transmitter. The USB 3.2 port should allow you to go from 480 Mb/s transfer speed to 5 or 10 Gb/s. The infrared transmitter for its part should allow you to control certain home automation devices from your phone, a bit like a remote control.

More classically, the leaker claims that the OnePlus 12 should integrate a periscope. We can therefore expect a better zoom factor on the OnePlus 12 than the to October 26, 2023.

Hopefully with all these improvements, the price of the OnePlus 12 doesn’t skyrocket. As a reminder, the OnePlus 11 cost 800 euros when it was released.
