The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G comes to fruition: 120 Hz, big battery and low price

The technical specifications of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G have reached us. Launched in India, the device combines a 120 Hz LCD screen and a 5000 mAh battery to make up for its endless name.

250 euros in starting price and a technical sheet which looks rather well balanced. This is what can be learned from the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, which has just been announced in India. The device, which borrows some elements from the One Plus Nord N20 5G, but also (and it is logical) from the OnePlus Nord CE 2, adopts a larger battery, but also a better refresh rate than its big brother.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is thus adorned with a 6.59-inch Full HD + IPS LCD panel, capable of going up to 120 Hz (compared to AMOLED 90 Hz on the “classic” CE 2), and a Snapdragon processor 695 coupled with 6 or 8 GB of RAM depending on the version chosen. The storage capacity (expandable via microSD) is limited to 128 GB, regardless of the model.

A new affordable mid-range mobile

On the photo side, the device has a 16MP front sensor installed in the upper left corner of the screen. The main rear module goes up to 64 Mpx, but we are satisfied for the rest with two 2 Mpx sensors: one for bokeh effects and portrait mode, the other for macro capture.

Instead of the 4500 mAh battery added to the Nord CE 2, the Nord CE 2 Lite opts for a slightly larger capacity (120 Hz requires). We therefore go to 5000 mAh, which it will be possible to quickly recharge in 33 W… but slower than with the 65 W fast charge allowed on the non-Lite model. We can not have everything.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has for the rest a 3.5 mm jack (endangered on smartphones), but also a fingerprint sensor housed on the right side. The device is powered by Android 12 and features OnePlus’ OxygenOS 12 software overlay.

Available only in India at the time of writing, the device is available in blue and black from 19,999 rupees (just under 250 euros) in the 6 GB RAM version. The 8 GB model is for its part displayed at 21,999 rupees (just over 270 euros).
