It would have been a shame not to have a model resembling the Apple Watch… After the OnePlus Watch launched in 2021, the Chinese company is repeating the experience of the connected watch, but this time in a rectangular format. The OneWatch Nord Watch, that’s its name, has a 1.78-inch AMOLED rectangular screen with a resolution of 368 x 448 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
The visuals are quite flattering as long as you like the look given by Apple to its watches, because, except for the positioning of the physical button on the right side of the object, the mimicry is almost perfect. However, a closer confrontation is likely to be less flattering: the body of the watch is made of zinc alloy and plastic, while the bracelet is made of silicone. However, it is IP68 certified.
The watch does not have its own GPS, which means that it can only collect the position of the user if a smartphone is linked to it via Bluetooth 5.2. A disadvantage that gives him increased autonomy. OnePlus has integrated a 230 mAh battery into the product, which can work for a month on a charge, at least in power saving mode. Active use endurance is more like 10 days, according to OnePlus.
Equipped with a usual accelerometer, the watch is able to automatically detect activities and supports 105 types of exercises. It also has a heart rate sensor, an SpO2 monitor and supports sleep tracking. OnePlus also talks about menstrual cycle tracking for women.
For now, the watch is making a name for itself in Asia, but we bet it will be launched in Europe soon. The OnePlus Nord Watch trades in India for around $85.
