“The only disadvantage…”: Dave owner of a house in the Luberon

Installed in the chic domain called Villa Montmorency, in Paris, the singer Dave never hesitates to leave the capital every summer for twenty-five years to land in the countryside. Indeed, the 78-year-old artist owns a house in the Luberon. He is currently recovering there after his terrible fall a few months ago, which left him with scars.

It’s in the pages of Evening Mag that Dave confided in the heart of summer, when he packed his bags in his second home with her husband Patrick Loiseau. “We have been here for 25 years (…) I love this house, it is in the middle of nowhere in an area where you cannot build. The only disadvantage is that we do not have access to city water. So we have to go through a borehole and with the current drought, it gives nothing. We must therefore supply ourselves by cisterne“, confided the interpreter of the tubes Vanina and On the Swann side. A small inconvenience with which Dave adapts perfectly, he who assures that he “always find something to do, that’s how it is when you’re at home!“But, this year, with his health concerns, we dare to hope that he does not kill himself with the task of doing a whole bunch of things in his house.

If Dave, who intends to give concerts again and record songs, if only because he needs it financially, has chosen to settle here, it’s because of… one of his friends. And not just any. “At the time, my dear friend Daniel Auteuil – we have been friends for 51 years – had a house in the Lubéron with Emmanuelle Béart. At that time, on my side, I had a house in Périgord and Daniel convinced me to come here, saying to me: ‘That way, when we’re old, we’ll go fishing together.’ Finally, he left Emmanuelle and ended up in Corsica, but he still comes to see us regularly. He was there no later than last week. We also have other friends near here. Renaud has lived next door for almost 30 years, there is also one of our musicians…“, he adds.
