Opera will integrate ChatGPT into some of its products, announced the parent company of the browser, Kunlun Tech. This news comes as Google and Microsoft are already fighting a battle in the field of generative AI.

Opera’s parent company makes a very brief announcement
It’s Opera’s turn to join the party. Kunlun Tech explained that the browser will incorporate conversational AI into its products, but did not provide further details. It is not known when this will happen or which platforms will be affected.
This announcement comes at a pivotal time. Last week, Microsoft presented the new version of its Bing search engine, which will integrate the technology on which ChatGPT is based. The Redmond company explained that its Edge browser would also be equipped with it. In the process, Google announced that its own chatbot, Bard, would be integrated into Google Search to greatly increase its capabilities.
Microsoft demonstrated what ChatGPT will offer when integrated with Edge. Available on the sidebar, it will be possible to submit specific requests to it on a page, for example to summarize a financial report or to highlight the essential points of an article. It is not yet known if Opera will offer the same features.

Currently, Google Chrome is the world leader in the internet browser sector with 65.4% market share, while Microsoft Edge has 4.5%. Opera is housed at 6e place, with 2.4% market share. Kunlun Tech, a company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in China, announced last December that it was working on generative AI in the fields of music and image.
Ambitions in the AI sector are also legion in the Middle Kingdom. Last week, three tech giants in the country, Alibaba, Baidu, and JD.com, announced plans to roll out their alternative to ChatGPT.
