The Oppo Pad 2 is official, and it’s the OnePlus Pad lookalike

The stars of its conference, which is taking place today in China, may well be its smartphones, Oppo is also presenting a new tablet, the Pad 2. This succeeds a simple Pad, an affordable and family model that we have from elsewhere tested last year. Revealing a more advanced technical sheet than its big sister, it also displays a disturbing resemblance to a certain OnePlus Pad, a brand united with Oppo within the Oplus entity. And for good reason: its technical sheet is identical.

The Pad 2, therefore, has an 11.61-inch LCD screen displaying a definition of 2000 x 2800 pixels and offering a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Like the OnePlus model, that of Oppo is animated by the Dimensity 9000 chip from MediaTek which, like its sister, is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM. We can however note that Oppo is a little more generous in the field of storage, since 256 GB is included in its tablet, against 128 GB on that of OnePlus. We also note that the brand offers the device in a version equipped with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, which does not appear in the OnePlus catalog.

For the rest, the tablet is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear photo module, an 8 Mpx sensor on the front and a 9510 mAh battery compatible with 67 W charging. It is compatible with the Oppo Pencil, a stylus with latency limited to 2 ms, according to the brand’s announcement, which will be sold as an option. It takes 499 yuan for the accessory (about €67 excluding tax) and a minimum of 2999 yuan (about €405 excluding tax) for the tablet, which is more or less the price of a OnePlus Pad. It remains to be seen whether Oppo will market such a tablet internationally, while its OnePlus-branded twin is already announced on the European and American markets in April.
