The Oppo Reno 9 will be the first mid-range smartphones with 16 GB of RAM

Next week, Oppo will unveil three new smartphones for its new Reno 9 series, and we already know that these will be very powerful. One of them will be the first in this segment to have 16 GB of RAM.

A few weeks ago, once had lifted the veil on a good part of the technical sheet of the next Reno 9, 9 Pro and 9 Pro + which will be officially presented by Oppo at a conference on November 24. However, we didn’t yet know how much RAM each device would use.

According to a benchmark on Geekbench, it seems that the most powerful model, the Reno 9 Pro+, could be faster than most high-end smartphones. Indeed, in addition to a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, the version that preceded the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the device will be fine equipped with 16 GB of RAM.

The Reno 9 Pro + will be entitled to 16 GB of RAM

With up to 16 GB of RAM, the Oppo Reno 9 Pro+ could well compete with the most powerful Android smartphones of 2022. This would also be a first, since so far, only a few premium smartphones had been entitled to such an amount of RAM. In terms of storage, the smartphone could also offer no less than 512 GB, which again is very rare in this segment.

In addition to being very powerful, the Reno 9 Pro+ should be interesting in photos. It will bet on three cameras on the back, including a 50 MP IMX890 main sensor. It is the successor to the very popular IMX766, which was found in smartphones such as the Nothing Phone (1), the Oppo Find X5 Pro, the Xiaomi 12 or the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. There will also be an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP macro sensor.

The smartphone therefore promises to be very interesting. The battery will be ensured by an accumulator of 4700 mAh compatible with 80 W fast charging, but we should not be entitled to wireless charging. After its release in China, the Oppo Reno 9 Pro+ may arrive in France a few weeks later as the Reno 9 Pro.
