The Paris Bourse ends a quiet week without going

The Paris Stock Exchange ended down slightly by 0.12% on Friday, chaining a fourth session with little movement, investors awaiting central bank meetings next week.

The star CAC 40 index lost 9.01 points to finish at 7,213.14 points. Over the week, it fell by 0.79%, a change mainly due to Monday’s session. This is his sixth decline in the last seven weeks.

But the Parisian coast has essentially stagnated the rest of the week, lacking economic indicators and significant decisions to take frank positions.

It suffered a little from the rise in rates by the Central Bank of Australia and Canada at the start of the week, explains Harry Wolhandler, director of equity management at Meeschaert AM.

These decisions have cast some doubt on the future choice of the American Central Bank to maintain its rates as it suggested at the end of its last meeting, or to finally raise them for the 11th time in a row.

If market players still grant a greater probability of a break, the speech at the end of the meeting of the president of the institution Jerome Powell will also be important, to gauge the trend for the second part of the year, recalls M Wolhandler.

The Banque de France now expects French economic activity to grow by at least 0.6% for the year 2023, while inflation is really slowing down, its governor, Franois Villeroy de Galhau, said on Friday.

The emblematic president of Scor dies

Denis Kessler, emblematic president of the reinsurer Scor since 2002 and figure of French employers, died Friday at the age of 71, the group announced in a press release. He had given up the general management in June 2021, while keeping his presidency. The action jumped 6.13% to 24.93 euros.

Winning ticket for Edenred

The prepaid payment services specialist Edenred (+0.66% to 61.34 euros) will join the CAC 40 from June 19, the stock market operator Euronext announced on Thursday. It replaces Vivendi which cd 2.35% 8.14 euros, one of the worst performances of the CAC 40.

A time tipped by analysts for the downgrade, the giant shopping centers Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield ended up sharply by 1.85% to 46.87 euros. Over the week, the stock achieved the second best performance of the CAC 40 (+4.85%).
