The pass: filming for season two has already started

Good news for fans of the German-Austrian TV series "The Pass" (Sky Original): The second season has been shot on January 21st and until June 2020 on 80 days of shooting in Austria and Bavaria, according to a press release. The German filmmakers Cyrill Boss (45) and Philipp Stennert (44) are again responsible for the direction and script. Viennese actor Nicholas Ofczarek (48) will return as Austro investigator Gedeon Winter, as will Julia Jentsch (41) as Bavarian Commissioner Ellie Stocker. So far it is known.

That's what season two is all about

The son of an influential family becomes a murderer while his older brother goes to extremes to protect him and his family. When corpses of young women are repeatedly found in the border region, a German-Austrian team of investigators is supposed to bring down the increasingly brutal and unscrupulous serial offender.

Commissioner Ellie Stocker, who is still suffering from the events of the Krampuskiller case (season 1), finds surprising support in an ambitious colleague and soon meets an old friend – Gedeon Winter …

Top-class cast

In addition to Ofczarek and Jentsch, the Munich artist Martin Feifel (55, "Commissioner South and the Air Guitarist") and his Lower Austrian colleague Christopher Schärf (41, "Crime scene: come with Marie!") Are also returning for the second season.

The top-class actor ensemble is complemented by the Austrian newcomers Dominic Marcus Singer (born 1993) and Christoph Luser (born 1980) as brothers. Also new on board are the Viennese actor Andreas Lust (52, "crime scene: forever and you"), the Swiss colleague Sibylle Canonica (62, "crime scene: the music dies last"), the German actor Stefan Hunstein (62, "Brainsgessterster"), the Austrian Erol Nowak (44, "Der Trafikant") and the newcomer Franziska von Harsdorf, who was born in Berlin in 1996 and grew up in Canada.

The eight episodes of the second season are scheduled to be broadcast in the first quarter of 2021, exclusively on Sky in Germany and Austria.

Season one has received multiple awards

The first season ran from January 2019 on Sky and in December as a free TV premiere on ZDF. Among other things, the production was awarded the "Best Series" with the Golden Camera. At the presentation of the Austrian film and television award Romy, the awards for "Best TV Series" and "Best Producer" were added. "The Pass" is also still in the running for the Grimme Prize 2020 in the "Fiction" section under "Series", which will be awarded on March 27, 2020.
