As revealed in the trailer below, The Penguin takes place just after the events of Matt Reeves’ film released in 2022. The Dark Knight’s boots are not yet dry when here comes Oswald Cobblepot, ready to plot to take over the head of Gotham’s underworld.

After the elimination of Carmine Falcone, the mafia needs a new leader, and Oswald Cobblepot, played by the still unrecognizable Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin, The Lobster), imagines himself taking this place.

However, he is not the only one and will have to jostle with Carmine’s children, Sofia (played by Cristin Milioti) and Alberto Falcone (Michael Zegen), and face other gangsters like Salvatore Maroni (Clancy Brown). .

The eight episodes of The Penguin will be broadcast from September on the new streaming service Max and should contain a cameo from the Dark Knight, Robert Pattinson having been seen on the set of the show last February.
