The DC series “The Penguin” with Colin Farrell in the leading role will also be launched in Germany this year.

DC and Batman fans can look forward to the release of the spin-off series “The Penguin” later this year. The show with superstar Colin Farrell (47) as the Penguin known from the movie “The Batman” is starting in the USA on the streaming service Max. In Germany, however, it is based on Sky and its streaming service Wow, as Sky Germany announced on May 28th in a press release.

This is what “The Penguin” is about

The DC series “The Penguin” is set in the universe of the 2022 movie “The Batman” with Robert Pattinson (38). The gangster Oswald Cobblepot (Farrell), also known as the Penguin, was already seen in this. In his own Max show, the Penguin tries to take the place of gangster boss Carmine Falcone in Gotham City’s underworld after his death. In this endeavor, he comes into conflict with Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti, 38), the daughter of the deceased gangster boss, who wants to seize power herself.

In addition to series star Farrell and Milioti, known from the sci-fi show “Black Mirror”, Rhenzy Feliz (26, “Encanto”), former “House of Cards” star Michael Kelly (55) and Clancy Brown (65, “Starship Troopers”) are also appearing in “The Penguin”. The first season of the series, consisting of eight episodes, will be available to watch in Germany parallel to the US broadcast.
