Google will not offer to repair its Pixel Watch 3 if it is damaged and will only offer a replacement system.
Last week, Google presented its new smartwatch, the Google Pixel Watch 3. For the first time, the company has also chosen to innovate in terms of design, by offering two formats: 41 and 45 mm.

What are the best smartwatches in 2024?
However, where the problem lies is in the repairability of the watch. Indeed, as the site reports Android Authoritythe Pixel Watch 3 cannot be repaired by Google in the event of a breakdown. The specialist site asked one of Google’s spokespersons about this, who had a rather clear answer:
If your device is damaged, you can contact the Google Pixel Watch customer support team to find out your replacement options. […] The Pixel Watch 3 can only be replaced.
In concrete terms, it seems that it is not possible to have the watch repaired in the event of a broken screen or a battery that is too weak. As support, Google will then simply offer a new watch to replace the damaged one.
Previous Pixel Watches already couldn’t be repaired by Google
While this announcement is disappointing from the point of view of product repairability and Google’s carbon footprint, it is anything but a surprise.
Indeed, Google’s previous watches — the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 — weren’t designed to be repaired either. If they were damaged, Google would simply replace the damaged model with another watch.
While Google does not support repair of the Google Pixel Watch 3, this does not mean that the task is impossible for the user. For the two previous models, the site iFixit had posted disassembly guides online. Both watches were then rated 4/10.
The specialist site thus regretted the presence of too many adhesive strips as well as a screen and battery that were difficult to access. Above all, to repair a damaged watch, you still need to be able to get your hands on the spare parts.
