the planer move is postponed until 2025

The government announced on Friday to postpone until 2025 the refocusing of MaPrimeRnov’, its main aid for the energy renovation of housing, towards more efficient projects.

Since January 1, 2024, the government’s flagship aid has been more subject to conditions, with the aim of allocating it more to large-scale, heavier and more efficient renovations, and less to single actions (changing the boiler or windows, insulation of the roof alone…).

The Ministers of Ecological Transition and Housing announced to postpone most of these changes until January 1, 2025, complying with a request from professional construction organizations who accused them of having brought renovation projects to a halt.

Better a single action than no renovation at all

A global renovation is better than a single action, but a single action is better than no renovation at all, justified the Minister of Ecological Transition Christophe Bchu. Individuals will thus be able to benefit from MaPrimeRnov’ without necessarily having to change their heating method, as was to be the case.

They will no longer be required to carry out an energy performance diagnosis (DPE) to claim aid, while owners of housing classified F or G, the least efficient labels, will ultimately not be required to engage in a major renovation.

unblocked 90% of construction sites

has cleared 90% of construction sites, the president of the French Building Federation, Olivier Salleron, congratulated AFP after meeting Christophe Bchu and the Minister for Housing Guillaume Kasbarian. This will allow companies to get out of the way, validate quotes and get back to work, he added.

I underline the courage they had to rework and review their copy, this is not very frequent, said his counterpart from the Confederation of Crafts and Small Building Businesses, Jean-Christophe Repon.
