Bloating, painful belly, spasms … Constipation is a daily problem for many French women. With its podcast "Interior Chronicles", Hépar® * wishes to play down the problems of transit and give free rein to this subject which is so intimate and still too taboo.

Changes in daily habits, stress, eating habits, lack of physical activity or hormonal upheavals … there are many causes that can explain the onset of constipation in a person. But these transit issues are not always easy to tackle.

Constipation: what impact on social, professional, love life …?

Abdominal pain, migraines, excessive sweating, difficulty in evacuating stool … Constipation can cause painful physical symptoms that significantly impact the well-being of women. According to an IPSOS study carried out for Hépar® *, 91% of them suffering from constipation feel a negative impact in their daily life. 88% say that this discomfort affects their personal and social life. Thus, in times of constipation crisis, many women refuse or cancel their outings and invoke a false excuse. The reason ? Constipation is much more difficult to manage outside of the home.

Transit concerns also impact the professional life of 74% of women. Absences, delays, reduced productivity … The professional context can quickly maintain a vicious circle: work can be a stressor and stress can influence constipation. The gaze of others is also difficult to manage for many of them.

Finally, 74% of women feel a negative impact on their love life. Between the fear of "breaking the magic", the drop in libido and an affected self-image, romantic relationships are disrupted by the physical discomfort and mental discomfort caused by constipation.

Among the women surveyed by the brand, all agree that it is not easy to talk about constipation.
