Amazon Prime Video is streaming the new documentary series “The Pogmentary” from Friday. Five 30-minute episodes directed by Damien Piscarel and dedicated to Paul Pogba, in which we discover the career and life of the world football champion, with other stars of the round ball as guests. Producer Damien Piscarel recounts an unpublished document.
Football fans are in for a treat. The Amazon Prime streaming platform is broadcasting the documentary series from Friday The Pogmentary, produced by Damien Piscarel. In total, five episodes of around thirty minutes on the French world champion. The number 6 of the France team and player of Manchester United, an English team which he leaves at the end of his contract on June 30, has agreed to open his doors wide and show his daily life for almost a year. .
“It’s not just a documentary series,” said producer Damien Piscarel to Europe 1. “I really wanted to understand Paul Pogba through his inner circle, people who speak very rarely. We were able to shoot moments with his agent Mino Raiola, who died a few weeks earlier. We are totally immersed in the world of Paul Pogba. The idea is to transport the viewer where he never goes, that is to say in the intimacy of a personality of the world football.”
From Roissy-en-Brie to the Stade de France
His closest collaborators and his inner circle agreed to be filmed, but also other famous football stars who marked his career, such as Blaise Matuidi. And to tell certain moments of his life, Damien Piscarel chose 3D animation. “We came to the conclusion that we could stand out by creating something unique with animation, or relive moments from the past that we cannot have on video to give a unique point of view”, he believes. “Integrating animation into a documentary is a real challenge because it’s not the usual writing. It gives a unique taste to the series.”

The Pogmentary recounts a career and the glory of the 2018 World Cup, but also a childhood in Roissy-en-Brie, in Seine-et-Marne, just like the failure of the Blues at Euro 2020, against Switzerland. Paul Pogba talks about the greatest – but also the worst – moments of his life with sincerity, humor and humility.
