Today a comedian and singer, Camille Lellouche nevertheless experienced hard blows that made him plunge into alcohol. Guest of the Unexpected Journal on RTL this Saturday, December 2, she spoke about the still taboo subject of alcoholism among women. According to Public health Francein 2020, 11,000 deaths among women were attributed to alcohol (compared to 30,000 deaths among men). In addition, between 0.3% and 1.4% of women’s visits to the emergency room were directly linked to alcohol. Questioned on the subject by journalist Nathalie Renoux, Camille Lellouche responded bluntly: “That’s how I damaged myself.“

The comedian insists: “Yes, It’s called alcoholism. […] In France, it’s hard to talk about this kind of thing, but from the moment you work, you go out, you drink and you do that seven days a week, you are an alcoholic. You don’t have to be in denial at this moment.” Camille Lellouche explains that she suffered from this addiction when she was going through a difficult time. “I was not not recognized as an artist. I did almost ten years in catering, I worked a lot“, she describes. If the restoration was for her “a very nice job” who taught her a lot, she “born [faisait] not this [qu’elle aimait] deeply.“
