The Poujoulat Group acquires BBNA – 07/31/2023 at 11:53

(AOF) – The Poujoulat Group has announced the acquisition of 100% of the capital of the company Bois Bûches Nord Atlantique (BBNA), located in Loire-Atlantique. The objective of this operation is to continue the consolidation of its wood-energy branch and its Woodstock and Crépito brands in the Great West. The historical shareholders of BBNA, Mr. and Mrs. Corbin, and representatives of Euro Energies, a subsidiary of the Poujoulat group, signed the sale protocol on July 25th.

BBNA, located in Guémené-Penfao, specializes in the manufacture and distribution of logs and high-performance pellets in Loire-Atlantique.

This acquisition is part of the external growth process of the Euro Energies subsidiary and of the Woodstock and Crépito brands in the Great West. As a reminder, since July 2021, the Poujoulat group has acquired the company Bois Bûches Center Atlantique (BBCA), located in Indre, as well as La Bûche Forestière and SOCCEM, located in Sarthe.

The transferees and the current team of BBNA will support Euro Energies in the development of the local wood sector. Indeed, through this operation, the Poujoulat Group will significantly increase its production capacities over the next 18 months and contribute to the employment dynamics of the territory.

Lack of visibility

The National Union of Quarry and Building Materials Industries (Unicem) indicates that, after an initial downturn in the second quarter, activity continued to deteriorate in the third quarter and recorded a drop as much for aggregates (-1.3 %) than on ready-mixed concrete (-0.9%). Over the first nine months of the year, the decline was 2% for the materials business as a whole. Only tiles and bricks manage to show slight increases in activity.

The general outlook is deteriorating and recruitment difficulties and rising costs are the main sources of concern. Furthermore, Unicem underlines the difficulties in implementing the projects. The production of materials could decline this year by 3% for ready-mixed concrete (BPE) and 4% for aggregates.
