Because of the death of Prince Philip, the animated satire series “The Prince” was only postponed. Now it has surprisingly been published.

The streaming service HBO Max released “The Prince” at surprisingly short notice. US viewers can now access the twelve episodes of the animated series. The satire, whose publication was initially postponed after the death of Prince Philip (1921-2021) in April, is all about a fictional version of the British royals.

In May, HBO had Max the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” confirmedthat the show had been postponed. One was “saddened” to learn of Prince Philips’ death, a spokesman said at the time, among other things. In a trailer you can also see why the streaming service decided to postpone it.

At the center of the apparently bitter satire is the young Prince George. The eight-year-old, Philip and other members of the royal family are not shown in the best light in the clip. Prince Harry’s (36) character seems completely unworldly, the animated Prince William (39) is carried to the toilet by a butler and the fictional Prince Charles (72) follows his “mommy”, Queen Elizabeth II (95), like a little boy on word. This in turn ponders how much work it is to be both the head of the Royal Family and a “syndicate”.

Numerous stars are there

Gary Janetti (55) is not only the head behind “The Prince”, he also speaks Prince George. In addition to him, Orlando Bloom (44) as Harry, Alan Cumming (56) as Georges Butler, Lucy Punch (43) as Duchess Kate (39) and Condola Rashad (34) as Duchess Meghan (39) can be heard. Also on board are the “Game of Thrones” stars Iwan Rheon (36) as William and Sophie Turner (25) as Princess Charlotte (6).
