In September it will be 30 years since "The Prince of Bel-Air" first appeared on TV. This anniversary is to be celebrated.
After the successful virtual reunion at the end of April, the entire cast of the hit sitcom "The Prince of Bel-Air" will soon be back together. The 30th anniversary of the series is to be celebrated in a special. This is reported, among other things, by the US trade journal "Variety".
In addition to Will Smith (51), Tatyana Ali (40), Karyn Parsons (53), Joseph Marcell (72), Daphne Maxwell Reid (72) and Alfonso Ribeiro (48) can be seen. According to the official description, the whole thing should be a "funny and touching evening full of music, dance and surprise guests".
The special will be filmed on September 10th – the very day the sitcom first flickered across the TV screens. The program will then be broadcast sometime in early October on the video-on-demand service provider HBO Max.
New edition planned as a drama
The reunion was developed by the production company Westbrook Studios by Will and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith (48). The same company is also planning a remake of the 90s sitcom – but not as a comedy. The reboot is meant to be turned into serious drama. Whether Will Smith himself will play in the drama version of "The Prince of Bel-Air" has not yet been confirmed or denied.
