The profit-sharing agreement is “historic”, according to Bruno Le Maire

A convention of the presidential party is due to present proposals on Monday to transform the agreement into law.

The Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire on Monday praised the agreement reached between social partners on the sharing of value in business, described as “history for all SME employees“. “We will respect this agreement which is a good agreement and which is even historic for all employees of SMEs“, declared the minister at the microphone of BFMTV / RMC, while a convention of the presidential Renaissance party must formulate proposals this Monday in order to translate the agreement between employers’ organizations and trade unions into a text of law.

The historic advance of this agreement between the social partners is to make compulsory, for any SME which has made significant profits over the past three years, either a profit-sharing agreement, or a profit-sharing agreement, or the payment a tax-exempt premium“Explained Bruno Le Maire. He recalled that currently, 80% of the employees of large groups were covered by a profit-sharing agreement or profit-sharing in the company’s results, against only 20% of those of SMEs.

Two unions have already approved the deal

The value-sharing agreement is open for signature by trade unions until Wednesday. The CFDT and the CFTC have already signed it, which suffices to validate the agreement in the absence of majority opposition to this text. However, the unions consider that these profit-sharing arrangements cannot replace wage increases.

The president of Medef, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, had called on the government on Sunday to respect the agreement, without emptying it of its substance. “I want the government to take over this agreement” And “any unraveling of this agreement would be for me a stab in the back of the social partners“, he had warned during the”Big meeting»Europe 1/Cnews/Les Echos.

For his part, the Minister of Public Accounts, Gabriel Attal, traveling in the Gers, wanted to communicate new figures on the use by companies of another form of profit sharing, the value sharing bonus. (PPV), optional for the employer, also known as “Macron premium“. According to Gabriel Attal, this bonus, tax-exempt and exempt from social contributions in certain cases, was received in 2022 by 5.5 million employees working in 460,000 companies, for a total amount of 4.4 billion euros, an increase of 50% compared to 2021.”Our conviction is that profit is not only for the bosses or the shareholders, it must also be for the employees.“, he said, during a visit to the company specializing in mapping Parera, which employs 800 employees in Isle-Jourdain, in the Gers.
