Sony has finally revealed the release date and price of the PS VR2, the virtual reality headset for the PS5. The device will be available in France from February 23, 2023, and the basic pack, which includes the headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones, will be displayed at 600 €! Or 50 € more than the PS5.
For several months now, Sony has been slowly raising the sauce around its PS VR2, the future virtual reality headset for the PS5. In September 2022, many journalists and Youtubers were able to try the beast for a few hours, and as much to say that the first opinions were unanimous: the PS VR2 is faultless.
Faced with this general enthusiasm, players were eager to know two essential pieces of information: the price and the release date of the device. We knew that the PS VR2 was due to land in 2023, but we did not yet have a specific window. It is now done. Indeed, Sony has just revealed on the PS Blog the price and the launch date of the PS VR2. Let’s kill the suspense immediately.
The PS VR 2 will land in France from February 23, 2023and several packs will be offered for sale:
- PS VR2 bundle includes PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones
- the Playstation VR2 Horizon Call of The Mountain bundle includes the PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones as well as a code to download the digital version of Horizon Call of the Mountain

The PS VR2 achieves the feat of being more expensive than the PS5
Regarding the first pack, it will be displayed at the price of 600 €. And yes, that’s €50 more than the asking price for a classic PS5 with Blu-Ray player. As for the bundle including Horizon, it will be necessary to offload 650 €. Note that Sony will also launch on February 23, 2023 PS VR2 Controller Charging Station Sense, which allows in particular to charge the controllers of the helmet without connecting them to the PS5 console. This accessory will be sold at €49.99.
The manufacturer adds that during the initial launch phase of the headset, players in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg will be able to pre-order the PS VR2 only. via the Playstation Direct league store. Note that pre-orders will open on November 15and that it is already possible to register today to participate.
Orders placed through Playstation Direct will ship the week of release. According to Sony, twenty games are planned for launch, among Horizon Call of The Mountain of course. The Japanese firm intends to reveal the exact line-up “very soon”.
