“My spider sense is tingling”, all Spiderman fans must have said to each other that night. Indeed, Sony split an event to reveal a new trailer for the sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Manlogically named Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is set to release exclusively on the PS5. The story is darker and incorporates one of the most emblematic villains of the universe created by Stan Lee: Venom. We are also promised a larger game universe than the first, as the iconic surroundings of the Big Apple will be accessible: Coney Island, Queens, Brooklyn have been added.
This new preview of Spidey’s adventures was also an opportunity for Sony to unveil a new shell for its PS5 home console, obviously inspired by the Spider. The front (or upper, when the PS5 is placed horizontally) facade mimics the advance of the black symbiote on Spiderman’s red costume, whose logo adorns the lower right area. As for the rear (or lower) facade, it is completely black, but always with the sign of Spiderman in white.
Note that, for the moment, only the PS5 with optical drive seems to be available. This will be available as a bundle with a matching DualSense controller, which features a similar black and red design. A download code for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will also be provided. Pre-orders will start on July 28 and if no price has been communicated, it is very likely that it will turn around 600 €.
