Michel Onfray was the guest of Europe 1 this Thursday morning. At the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk, the philosopher felt that Jean-Luc Mélenchon did not represent the far left but the radical left. And, according to him, this radical left is distinguished by “its anti-Semitism and its Islamophilia”.

Almost a week after the legislative elections, Michel Onfray returns to the recomposition of the French political landscape at the microphone of Europe 1. The philosopher believes that “Marine Le Pen is not of the far right” just like Jean-Luc Mélenchon n is not far left. And, according to him, the leader of rebellious France embodies above all “a radical left which is distinguished by its anti-Semitism and its Islamophilia”.

“I am amazed by the psychorigid aspect of Macron”

“I ask people who demonstrate that I am wrong,” he continues. “They will have a hard time.” Facing Sonia Mabrouk, Michel Onfray also attacked Emmanuel Macron. “I am amazed by the psychorigid aspect of the character. For five years, he has already lost all the elections. Each time he loses an election, he stays”.

For the philosopher, France is cut in four: the extreme left, the extreme right, the extreme center and abstentionism. “A quarter of the people did not vote. I am one of them,” he says. With 46.23%, participation was at its lowest in the second round of the legislative elections.
