The Red Bracelets: will the heroes of the first three seasons return in season 4?

Broadcast every Monday evening on TF1, season 4 of the series “Les Bracelets rouge” features a new generation of teenagers. However, can fans hope to see Thomas, Mehdi, Roxane or Côme again in these new episodes?

Centered on a new generation of sick teenagers, will the new season 4 of the series Les Bracelets rouge see certain teenagers from the first three seasons return in the next episodes broadcast on TF1?

Offered every Monday evening at 9:10 p.m. on TF1, this new batch of episodes, which still takes place within the same Arcachon hospital, focuses on the fate of Benji (Léo Lorléac’h), Gabriel (Noé Wodecki), Zoé (Esther Blanc), Emma (Kali Boisson), Nathan (Noah Deric) and César (Maxime Pipet), a new band of Red Bracelets just as endearing as the previous one.

The intrigues of Thomas, Clément, Roxane, Mehdi, Côme, Nour and Louise, which carried the first three seasons of the series, having been wrapped up in a very nice way at the end of season 3 broadcast in 2020 on TF1, the production and the writers of Red Bracelets thus preferred to operate a sort of “reboot” and introduce a new generation of characters during this fourth season.

However, the former heroes of the series are not forgotten since, in addition to a few mini flashbacks in the first episode, the previous gang of Bracelets is present in photos that we can see in the hospital, in a few sequences . As if to bear witness to their passage and remind us that life goes on.

Fans who were hoping to see Audran Cattin, Tom Rivoire, Louna Espinosa or Azize Diabate (Here it all begins) in this season 4 will however be disappointed to learn that they do not appear in the flesh in these six new episodes.

Has a return of Thomas, Clément, Roxane and the others been considered?

Met last March as part of the Séries Mania Festival, where season 4 was previewed, the screenwriters Cécile Berger and Solenn le Priol told us that they had obviously asked themselves the question, with their writing partners Pascal Fontanille, Alexandre Manneville and Winnie Vatimbella, to bring back old characters or not for an episode or more.

“We asked ourselves the question, of course”explains Cécile Berger when asked if cameos from Thomas, Clément, Côme, Roxane or Medhi were considered. “For more than a cameo in fact, because a simple appearance would have been disappointing for the viewers”.

“There were a lot of production questions to ask around all that”continues Solenn le Priol. “Was it possible? Did the actors want to come back? Before embarking on writing a whole plot about a return of Mehdi or another character, it was important to ‘to be sure that it was possible. And then, did the channel and the production want it? We, the screenwriters, we bowed a little to the production needs on that. Both options allowed us were going. If we had been asked to bring to life the return of one of the characters, we would have done it. We were absolutely not against it.”.

Ultimately, these possible returns did not take place, and the writers therefore focused on the new heroes of season 4, who were already the driving force behind many intrigues.

“Maybe we didn’t find the right story, that we didn’t find the right place for the return of this or that character. After all, we already had to be able to bring this story to life. new generation”admits Cécile Berger. “We were also probably afraid that it would eat into new storylines a little. Because inevitably a return of an old character was going to encroach on the rest. We got so caught up in writing our new characters that we love that we wanted to give them all the space, so that they fully exist”.

“We didn’t necessarily need it”concludes Solenn le Priol about these returns which did not materialize. “But Côme, Mehdi, Thomas and the others continue to exist. They live somewhere. And we see photos of them”.

As for the possibility of seeing them appear later, in a possible season 5, or even a season 6, producer Véronique Marchat does not close the door: “Of course, it’s possible. Maybe”.
