PARIS, July 10 (Reuters) – EDF’s plan to renationalise EDF.PA will not result in a rise in French electricity bills, French government spokesman Olivier Véran said on Sunday.
“The nationalization of EDF has no impact on the cost of electricity for the French. There is no small addition (on the bill…), it is public expenditure” , he said on LCI.
The government announced Thursday that the French state was considering renationalizing the energy company to allow it to undertake major projects, such as the renewal of the national nuclear fleet.
