Renault took a while to launch its first electric SUV. It will ultimately bear a name well known to the public, since it is the new Scenic. This model was announced for less than €40,000 excluding bonus at entry level, and it is clear that the promise was kept.
The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric range thus starts from €39,990, excluding ecological bonus of €5,000, for which it should be eligible; a bonus which should however be reduced very soon to €4,000. What’s more, at this already quite aggressive price, the entry-level Evolution finish offers equipment that is far from obsolete. Automatic air conditioning, 19” alloy wheels, reversing camera and adaptive cruise control are, for example, provided as standard. The openR central screen based on Android Automotive is also delivered at entry level, but with a diagonal of 9″ instead of 12″ on other versions and without navigation and Google services, reserved for openR link .

All Scenics should benefit from the bonus
This entry-level finish is only available with the 60 kWh battery of the Scenic Autonomie Comfort, which already has a range of 430 km. The Techno finishing level leaves the choice of opting for the 87 kWh Long Autonomy version, which benefits from a range of 625 km. You need to pay at least €46,990 to buy a Scenic E-Tech electric Long autonomy, i.e. €5,000 more than for the Comfort autonomy version with identical finish.

This price below €47,000 should allow the Scenic Grande autonomy to be eligible for the ecological bonus. Finally, the high-end Esprit Alpine and Iconic versions are presented as options and not finishing levels, which should allow them to remain eligible for the ecological bonus, despite prices above €47,000. They are only available with the large 87 kWh battery.
If the Volkswagen ID.4 has just lowered its prices, it remains more expensive than the Scenic with an equivalent finish. With its competitive prices, the French SUV also manages to stand out from the comparison with the Tesla Model Y, sold from €45,990 excluding bonuses. The latter is larger and more expensive, but also very well positioned, which allows it to overshadow certain compact SUVs less competitive than the Scenic. Finally, the Peugeot e-3008 is expected to have higher prices than its rival from Renault, probably equivalent to those of the Model Y, precisely.
