the return of Gazans to Khan Younes after the withdrawal of the Israeli army

On Sunday October 7, Gazans returned to Khan Younes, to a city in ruins. The same day, Yoav Gallant, the Israeli defense minister, declared that the army had withdrawn its troops from the southern Gaza Strip, to “prepare for the continuation of missions”including an operation in Rafah. “Our forces are preparing to continue their missions (…) in the Rafah area »the city in the far south of the Palestinian enclave, where more than 1.5 million Gazans have found refuge, said Mr. Gallant, according to a press release from his office.
