The Rings of Power: Elrond changed actor two weeks before the shooting of the series The Lord of the Rings

The semi-Elf Elrond, embodied in the series “The Rings of Power” by Robert Aramayo, should have originally been interpreted by another actor!

One of the main characters of the Lord of the Rings series should have been played by an actor than the one who finally lent him his features in The Rings of Power! Produced by Amazon Prime Video, the series takes place several millennia before the adventures of The Fellowship of the Ring, retracing the rise of Sauron and the formation of the Last Alliance between Men and Elves to counter the armies of the necromancer.

The half-Elf Elrond, camped in the trilogies of Peter Jackson by Hugo Weaving, appears in the series in a rejuvenated version (although the Elves are immortal); and it is the British actor Robert Aramayo (Ned Stark young in Game of Thrones) who embodies it on this occasion. But the latter was not the first choice of production!

Because it is indeed Will Poulter who was supposed to play Elrond in the Lord of the Rings series! Role that he finally had to give up for scheduling reasons, the coronavirus epidemic in the spring of 2020 having led to postponements of filming no longer adapting to his overloaded schedule. Remember in particular that Will Poulter will soon be in the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 in the role of Adam Warlock!

It was therefore only two weeks before filming that Robert Aramayo was called by the production to integrate the cast of the series in the role of Elrond (in order to cover the tracks, the role had been announced at the time as that of Beldor, a character created from scratch for the series).
