The second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is currently being produced in Great Britain. Three actors have now been announced to join the cast of the Amazon series.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power continues to grow. Now three more cast members have joined the cast of Season 2 of the Amazon Prime Video series. Among them are Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear and Tanya Moodie. They will all embody recurring characters, which ones have not yet been announced.

The official channel for the series introduced the three actors on Twitter.

Ciarán Hinds is best known for his role as King behind the Wall Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones. The actor received Oscar and BAFTA nominations for his role in “Belfast.” Hinds has also acted in films such as “Munich”, “There Will Be Blood”, “Brugge See … And Die?” and “Justice League” with.

Rory Kinnear played the recurring role of Ms. assistant Bill Tanner in James Bond Quantum of Solace, James Bond Skyfall, James Bond Spectre and James Bond No Time To Die. The actor is also known for his roles in ‘Penny Dreadful’, ‘Southcliffe’ and ‘Black Mirror.’ Kinnear is currently starring in the HBO series Our Flag Means Death.

Tanya Moodie played Meg in the BAFTA-winning BBC comedy Motherland. She also played the role of John Watson’s therapist Ella Thompson on Sherlock. Other series Moodie starred in were A Discovery of Witches and The Man Who Fell To Earth. In the field of film, she is known for her work in JJ Abrams’ “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker”.

Hinds, Kinnear and Moodie join the already announced recurring cast additions of season 2. In addition to Sam Hazeldine, who takes over the role of orc leader Adar from season 2, there are also Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels , Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle, Nicholas Woodeson, Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb, Kevin Eldon, Will Keen, Selina Lo and Calam Lynch.

The Lord of the Rings: The Power Rings Season 2 is produced by showrunners and executive producers JD Payne and Patrick McKay. Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill and Gennifer Hutchison are executive producers.

Set in the second age of Middle-earth, the Amazon series tells the story of the creation of the Rings, the Force, and the One Ring. The narrative begins at a time of relative peace until there are hints of Sauron’s return.

The 1st season ends with the revelation of Sauron # and the emergence of Mordor. In Season 2 we get to know the ring bearers of the three Elven rings and learn about the power that the pieces of jewelery actually have.

The Rings of Power is currently in UK for production. The new episodes are scheduled to start in autumn 2024.
