New faces in Middle-earth. The Rings of Powerthe ambitious Amazon Prime Video series adapted from the work of JRR Tolkien and the universe of Lord of the Ringshas just added three quality actors to the cast of its season 2: Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear and Tanya Moodie.
New recurring roles
Currently filming in Britain, the next season of rings of power offers the three actors for recurring roles. If no details are yet known about the characters that Hinds, Kinnear and Moodie will play, these additions significantly enhance the quality of the cast of the Prime Video series.
Ciarán Hinds is one of the most prestigious Irish actors of recent years, and a real “mouth” of cinema. Mance Rayder in Game Of Thrones and Aberforth Dumbledore in the saga Harry Potterhe also played in the excellent series The Terror And The English (March 30 on Canal+), and films The mole And Belfastfor which he was nominated for an Oscar.
You undoubtedly know Rory Kinnear for his role as Bill Tanner in the James Bond saga (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Sky Fall, Spectrum, Dying can wait). The British actor was also in the cast of the series Penny Dreadfuland movie Imitation Game. Recently, he was a terrifying menace in the Men by Alex Garland.
For her part, Tanya Moodie also has a nice CV: she played General Parnadee in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalkerplayed for Sam Mendes (1917, Sky Fall) In Empire of Light and notably held a recurring role in the series Motherland.
As a reminder, The Rings of Power trace events unfolding during the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before The Lord of the Rings. Created by JD Payne and Patrick McKay, the series tells the creation of the famous rings, and the emergence of Sauron.

This (still mysterious) season 2 will see the notable arrival of the elf Círdan, bearer of one of the three rings forged by Celebrimbor, as well as other cult characters from the universe of JRR Tolkien such as the Nazgûl. If no release date has yet been announced by Amazon, do not wait for the rest of the rings of power before 2024.
All eight episodes of the first season are currently available on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform.
