The Rise of the Golden Idol: a sequel to the quirky point & click game already announced

Last year, Color Gray Games And Playstack launched The Case of the Golden Idol, a point & click adventure game asking us to solve a dozen crimes in the 18th century. A year later, the studios were Game Awards 2023 to reveal their next one, which will be a sequel.

The Rise of the Golden Idol will this time plunge us into the 1970s to investigate around fifteen cases. A very different time from the first part, but the crimes have not changed in 300 years.

The idol returns 300 years later

Three centuries after the Cloudsleys’ fate, the legend of the Golden Idol has faded from memory. We only talk about it in whispers, like an insane myth.

But some will stop at nothing to change that.

Welcome to the 70s – Blood and Disco

The Rise of the Golden Idol follows a determined relic hunter on his quest to find an artifact that legends say has the power to reshape the world.

As an observer, you will have to unravel the secret of 15 strange cases mixing crime, death and depravity. As in The Case of the Golden Idol, you have complete freedom to investigate and construct your own theory.

You will have to lift the veil on a mystery taking place in the age of hallucinogens, faxes, parapsychology and TV magazines.

Follower of spiritualism, prisoners, TV presenters and bureau chief will all play a role in the backstory of the events. And as always, many of them will have their own goals. And some will not hesitate to take action to achieve them.

The Rise of the Golden Idol is expected in 2024 on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, as well as on iOS and Android via Netflix. Until then, you can discover The Case of the Golden Idol from €16.19 on GOG.com And Gamesplanet.
