The Rocky Horror Picture Show is today a cult filmcoming from the wave of midnight movies and released in cinemas in 1975. A feature film directed by Jim Sharman and written by Richard O’Brien which is adaptation of a musical scripted and directed by these same two men, The Rocky Horror Show.
Almost 50 years later, now The Rocky Horror Show will be adapted into a video game ! It is FreakZone Games who develops this title, he was already behind Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe And Manos: The Hands of Fate – Director’s Cutalready adapted from an old (bad) film from the 60s. As in the musical and the film, The Rocky Horror Video Game will follow Brad And Janeta young couple who breaks down on the side of the road and takes refuge in a strange castle held by Doctor Frank-N-Furtera transvestite who created the perfect (but stupid) man, Rocky. The video game will be retro, with 8-bit graphics and replays chiptune cult music from Rocky Horror Show.
The Rocky Horror Video Game is expected sometime in October 2024 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch. In the meantime, you can find The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Blu-ray at €11.77 on Amazon.
