The Roland Kaiser Show: Love can save us: These guests look forward to the Roland Kaiser show

Roland Kaiser has invited well-known artists such as Ben Zucker and Santiano to his first own TV show "Love can save us".

On August 15 (Das Erste, 8:15 pm), "The Roland Kaiser Show: Love Can Save Us", the hit legend's first own TV show, will take place. The almost three-hour music show is all about love. Roland Kaiser's (68) guests will present love songs, but also sing duets with the host. "For me it is a great honor and a highlight of my career that I get my first own TV show on ARD through the MDR," wrote Roland Kaiser on Instagram. "This program gives me the opportunity, as a moderator, to welcome many colleagues from a wide variety of music genres, all of whom I admire and appreciate."

The invited artists include Ronan Keating (43), Adel Tawil (41), Glasperlenspiel, Wolfgang Niedecken (69) with his band BAP, Maite Kelly (40), Annett Louisan (43), Jeanette Biedermann (40), Max Raabe (57), David Garrett (39), Götz Alsmann (63), Sotiria (33), Joel Brandenstein (36) and the German TV Ballet. Ben (37) and Sarah Zucker (30) as well as Santiano and Senta-Sofia Delliponti alias Oonagh (30) are already looking forward to their hosts. "For me, Roland Kaiser is the greatest German artist of our time," enthused Ben Zucker in an interview with the news agency spot on news. For him it is "a great honor to be able to be there and to be moderated by such a reverent, living legend". That is "very special".

"When Roland Kaiser calls, it is both honor and joy"

The show is also "a great honor" for Ben Zucker's sister Sarah. "I'm just at the beginning and am getting to know the world of music and show, so it makes me very proud that an experienced and important artist like Roland Kaiser placed this trust in me and that I was allowed to participate in his show ", says the 30-year-old, who recently released her debut album" Wo mein Herz ist ". "When Roland Kaiser calls, it is both an honor and a joy", explain the band members of Santiano. "It's great to see how this icon of German music history keeps reinventing itself. And finally seeing so many colleagues again was the icing on the cake."

Senta-Sofia Delliponti alias Oonagh is also "huge". "I think it's a great format because great artists from a wide variety of genres were invited here, rock and pop meets Schlager. Each artist stands for himself and there are also duets and make this show something very special. I was at accompanied my performance by the German television ballet, that was a lot of fun, "she says.

So the musicians used the time in the corona lockdown

The appearance on the TV show is also special for the artists because they can be back on stage after the long corona lockdown. "I'm very happy that things are slowly starting again," says Ben Zucker. In his free time he discovered cooking and tried out many new recipes. He also wrote songs, did sports, played PlayStation "and looked through Netflix twice". As a newcomer, his sister Sarah is "very grateful for every opportunity I get to present my music." She taught herself to play the guitar during lockdown, read a lot and thought a lot.

To finally be able to perform again after such a long time, Santiano describe "like opening a box of chocolates". It is a sign that things can start again. Nevertheless, the show "of course does not replace a two and a half hour performance in front of its own fans". "As the saying goes: 'I want to go back on the street, I want to sing again, not beautiful, but cool and loud'", the musicians quote the song "At 18" by Marius Müller-Westernhagen (71).

Oonagh: "It's a small first start"

"The possibilities weren't that big for us," said Santiano of the lockdown. "Chart successes and awards do not get us any further. So we have of course joined all the measures that are necessary to get through this crisis together." In order to give artists and trades in the entertainment industry a short to medium-term perspective, they have set up the "Schleswig-Holstein Culture Festival" together with the Schleswig-Holstein state government.

"It doesn't just work, there are collaborations and combinations that would never have existed. Very exciting!" Say the musicians. It means a lot to Oonagh to be on stage again. "To have a song recorded and to create is a special thing, but then to share that song with the audience is a completely different and wonderful feeling," she says.

"It's a small first beginning and I hope that soon more viewers can be there again and that there can be live events again." She also used the Corona period sensibly: she questioned and reflected on things in her life, dealt with medicinal herbs and spent time with her family. "I tried to face fears and use these situations as an opportunity without fainting," says the singer and actress.
