The Rolling Stones: after 50 years again a number one single

Great success for the Rolling Stones in Germany. For the first time in more than 50 years, a song reached number one on the charts.

Her studio albums regularly land at number one on the charts. But what the cult band The Rolling Stones has not been able to do for more than 50 years has now become reality again: A number one single in the Official German Charts. As GfK Entertainment reports, their current song "Living In A Ghost Town" will land on the square in the sun this week.

According to frontman Mick Jagger (76), the song, which was already released on April 23, 2020, was created about a year ago. Although Covid-19 was still unknown at the time, the song is strongly associated with the worldwide lockdown measures during the corona pandemic due to the lyrics. By the way: The last number one hit by the British in Germany was their world hit "Jumpin 'Jack Flash" in 1968. The anthems "Angie" and "Honky Tonk Women" only made it to second place afterwards.
